I was going to blog my experiences during the course of the weekend but then I was lazy so here's this! I should cut it. That'll probably make it less wordy-scary-ness.

Lollapalooza Saturday was a strange day but ever so short. One of the only acts I cared about was Atmosphere and he totally didn't disappoint. He ended up being the best act I saw all weekend. The combination of the setlist and the fact Slug seemed like such a nice guy just made the experience wonderful.
Sadly, no one else on Saturday impressed me much.
We walked around as much as we could. The heat wasn't as bad as expected because of the periodical lake breezes. Walking around in general was quite a feat considering it was the most crowded Saturday. We parked by Santigold but realized she was pretty similar to MIA in the sense, I basically know and like a couple songs by 'em. Other things mirrored but whatever.
No one else performing later in the day seemed worth staying longer for so we ended up leaving mid-TV on the Radio after being amused by the fact the dude was in Rachel Getting Married.

Sunday was slightly more promising. It was still hot but again, lake breezes made it completely tolerable. We started off with some Car Stereo (Wars), followed by some Kaiser Chiefs, The Hood Internet and a journey to the other side partially to be early for Snoop Dogg but to watch some Vampire Weekend who ended up being pretty damned good.
When an artist points out how not nice it is to destroy a blow-up doll surfing the crowd, you know they are a good time.
Cold War Kids were ok. I don't remember them much but I do remember the lovely layer of smoke during Snoop Dogg. He was pretty fantastic. We stayed much of the day after of course. Passing people, passing acts. Silversun Pickups and MSTRKRFT were ok. We noticed Lou Reed playing over and Band of Horses playing late. We wanted to see what the hubbub was over Jane's Addiction.
Sadly, not much could be surveyed since Band of Horses sort of played over maybe ten or fifteen minutes of Jane's Addiction's set. I still have no idea what to make of either one of those.
What I do remember is Deadmau5. We were just passing and seeing the dude getting pretty girls dancing in the trees was pretty much Grade A in my book. He was just surprisingly good.
I had a better year in part of learning from my mistakes from last. The acts were thinner but it was an overall good weekend. Got suntanned but also burnt. Does anyone know if just getting older make your skin less immune to sunburn? Oh well.
I really wish to see Atmosphere live again.
